Tour 1: Activities

DAY 1: Arrival of the customers

From 10:00 to 15:00

Edinburgh International Airport

The transfer rep will greet the customers at the aiport. He will be waiting for them with a "JD Tours" sign to make it easier for customers to recognize him. Then the rep can process the registration of customers to know if everybody made it to Edinburgh. If somebody is missing, the transfert rep will let the headquarters know about it so they can call the customers to know if they have been delayed or if they simply won't come. If they have been delayed (by the airline company), JD tours will make sure someone pick them up from airport.

A coach will take the customers to the hotel.


From 10:00 to 15:00

Transfer to the hotel

via A90 (10.1 mi, 24 mins)

On the coach to the hotel, the transfer rep will give a brief presentation about Scotland and Edinburgh. He will also explain what is going to happen for the first day.


 

Radisson Blu Hotel

On arrival

When the customers arrive at the hotel, they are given keys to their room where they will be able to refresh themselves, have a nap or change clothes. Those who arrived before 1pm will get a voucher for the bank hotel, a restaurant next to Radisson Blu Hotel.

16:00

Welcome meeting

JD tours rep will go over the tour programme. Tea, coffee and snack will be provided. The rep will announce dinner time and will give some tips and advice about what to do during free time (e.g. shopping on the Royal Mile, going for a drink in the many pubs on the Royal Mile...).

The customers will be provided with a welcome pack. This pack will include:
- details of the programme
- relevant maps for the tour
- documentation about attractions
- tips and advice (e.g. conversion pound to euro, clothes to wear...)
- things to do/see during free time
- emergency numbers 

This is the perfect occasion for customers to meet each other and know who they are going to spend the week with


 

Sin in the city

18:00

A tour guide will take the customers to the dark closes and wynds of the Royal Mile for a unique experience they will never forget. This is an opportunity to learn about what sin, seduction and godly discipline meant in centuries past. The tour will end in Megget's Cellar for a drink before heading to the hotel for dinner.

 

Radisson Blu Hotel

20:00

Dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant.

21.30

After dinner, the customers will be able to enjoy more drinks at the hotel bar or in the many pubs of the Capital City. Some customers might also get a good night sleep after their long day.

DAY 2: Edinburgh, Capital of Scotland

 

Radisson Blu Hotel

6:30 - 9:45

Breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
The customers will give their keys back to the hotel and they will put their luggage back on the coach. Then, the customers will walk to the Scotch Whisky Experience.


 

The Scotch Whisky Experience

10:00-12:30

The customers will be given a Morning Masterclass. This includes:
- Private viewing of the Diageo Claive Vidiz Scotch Whisky Collection
- Sensory Perception Test
- Comparative tastings of one Blended, one Single Grain and two Single Malt Whiskies
- Nosing of new-make spirit
- Whisky Shop discount voucher for 70cl bottles or our Tasting Packs
- Boxed crystal Whisky tasting glass
- Copy of Whisky Magazine
- Tea or coffee and shortbread

At the end of the class, the customers will be have time for shopping in the gift shop (about 30min).

13:00-14:30

Lunch will be served in the Scottish Experience restaurant: Amber.

 

(Guided) Shopping in Edinburgh

14:30-18:00

A guide will show the customers around the city. He will provide them with a good knowledge of the city and give them some tips about shopping and good places to get a snack. The customers don't have to attend this tour. They can do shopping on their own if they wish but they will have to meet the rest of the group at 18:00 on St Andrew Square. They will easily be able to find their way thanks to the map provided in their welcome pack.

There will be a break for a coffee/tea in a coffee shop.

- Back to the coach (St Andrew Square)


18:00-19.20

Transfer to Rufflets Country House Hotel (Saint Andrews)

The customers will be assigned a room. The guide will announce them the dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant at 20:00.

The customers will have dinner in the hotel restaurant and then they will have free time to relax:
- going for a walk in the hotel gardens
- enjoying a few drinks at the bar
- having a good night sleep.

DAY 3: Saint Andrews, Home of Golf

 

Rufflets Country House Hotel ****

7:00 - 9:00

Breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
The customers will give their keys back to the hotel and they will put their luggage back on the coach. Then, the coach will bring them to St Andrews Links.


 

Saint Andrews Links

10:00-12:30

The customers will be taught how to play golf by a golf teacher at the Golf practice centre.
After the training, the customers will have a 2-minute walk to the restaurant for lunch. 


 

West Port bar & kitchen ***

12:45-14:00

The customers will have lunch in this local 3-star inn which offers a mixture of traditional and contemporary dishes making it one of the top places to eat in St Andrews.


 

Saint Andrews Links

14:00-18:00

After lunch, the customers will go back to Saint Andrews Links for an afternoon on the green course. The golf will have tailored an approriote course for the customers according to the level of the group.


18:00-19.20

Transfer to Ballathie House Hotel

via A91, A912 & A93 (47.8 mi, 1 hour 13 mins)

The customers will be assigned a room. The guide will announce them the dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant at 20:00.

The customers will have dinner in the hotel restaurant and then they will have free time to relax:

- having a good night sleep.

 

DAY 4: Highlands

 

Ballathie House Hotel ****

6:00 - 8:30

Breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
The customers will give their keys back to the hotel and they will put their luggage back on the coach.

The customers will get a packed lunch from the hotel.


 

Transfer to Aviemore

8:30-11:00

The coach will stop in Pitlochry for a coffee/tea break.


 

Walk in the Highlands with Speyside Wildlife

11:00-16:00

A guide from Speyside Wildlife will take the customers to the Cairngorms National Park to see wildlife. The customers will have lunch in the mountains with their packed lunch. The guide will know where toilets and nice picnic areas can be found. Nevertheless the customers will be invited to use the toilets in the town before going for the walk.



16:00-17.00

Free Time in Aviemore

The customers will be able to enjoy local coffee shops and gift shops.

17:00-17:40

Transfer to Kingsmills Hotel**** (Inverness)

DAY 5: Loch Ness

The customers will hunt Nessie on a cruise on Loch Ness with Loch Ness Cruises, Drumnadrochit.

 Transfer to Loch Lomond with a one-hour break in Fort William

The customers will be given their room key and will be able to enjoy the hotel and its garden before going for dinner at 8pm.
The dinner will be served in the hotel restaurant and then they will have free time to relax:

- having a good night sleep.

DAY 6: The Dear Green Place

7:00 - 9:00

Breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
The customers will give their keys back to the hotel and they will put their luggage back on the coach.

The guide will have to get packed lunch for the customers from the hotel.


A walk by the Loch

9:00-12:30

 


Picnic by the Loch

12:30-13:30

The customers will get a packed lunch from the hotel to eat in the picnic areas on the site.


13:30-14:05

Transfer to Strathblane Falconry

The customers will get the opportunity to approach real birds of prey. The bravest ones will also get the chance to hold them and feed them.

This is an unique experience that customers will never forget.

A tea break will be organised in Strathblane Country House Hotel where customers will also find toilets. The hotel is accessible for disabled people.


17:30-19:00

Back to Edinburgh (Waverley Bridge)
